Dawson thrashes Alvin 74-38

The Dawson Eagles improved to 21-7 overall and 7-1 in district after knocking off the Alvin Yellowjackets 74-38.

The game was never in doubt as the more aggressive Eagles took control in the opening quarter led by Bryce Davis who hit seven 3-pointers for a game-high 21-points. Davis was especially effective as he nailed four of the treys in the second period.

The Eagles jumped out to a 20-7 first quarter lead as Grant Folger hit two short jumpers while Gage King hit a 3-pointer and a jumper to lead the offensive attack.

Dawson continued the assault in the second quarter led by Davis who also got help from Maleek Simeus who fired in a pair of 3-pointers and two free throws to give the Eagles a comfortable 44-18 lead at intermission.

It was more of the same in the third quarter as Dawson to the frame 19-9 as Simeus led the charge with a pair of treys and two free throws for a 63-27 advantage heading into the final period.

Each team score 11 points in the fourth quarter as Davis closed out the game with two 3-pointers as the Eagles posted the 74-38 final score.

Simeus scored 19 points while King and Charles Anderson each added eight points apiece.
