PEARLAND — For the fourth time in five meets, the Dawson Lady Eagles returned home with the team title. This time, they defended their home turf by winning the Dawson Relays with 109 points to finish ahead of Round Rock who scored 92. Spring Dekaney finish third with 82 points followed by Manvel (42), Foster (42), Clear Brook (38), Ball High (19), and Chavez (4).
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Abbie Harrelson who continued her unbeaten streak in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:13 for the gold medal and she also set a new school mark in the 3200 in 11:23 with her second place finish.
Taylar Prier also took first place in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 15.38 which was a career best.
The 400-meter quartet of Destini Jenkins, Cydney Boudreaux, Paige Kimble, and Nailah Henderson took second place in 48.66.
The 800-meter foursome of Jenkins, Boudreaux, Henderson, and Stirling Wilson place second in 1:43.
The 1600-meter relay team of Anteria Richardson, Jenkins, Emma Hayford, and Kimble place third in 3:58.3.
Boudreaux was second in the 100 meters (12.69) while Henderson was fifth (12.89).
Kimble placed second in the 400 (57.74) while Hayford finished in sixth (1:01.6).
Bethany Taylor was fourth in the 800 (2:25) and was fourth in the 1600 (5:31).
Hayford was fifth in the 200 (26.79) and Wilson was sixth (26.79).
Smith was fourth in the 100 high hurdles (18.09).
Miranda Thornhill was sixth in the 1600 meters (5:43).
The field events were cancelled due to inclement weather.
