Dawson sophomore wide receiver Corey Brown leaps up to snag a touchdown pass from quarterback Max Zavala vs Sam Rayburn.

Brown collected six total catches for 77 yards and a touchdown on a sunny afternoon as the Eagles took down Sam Rayburn 63-15.

The win keeps Dawson in the playoff picture, needing just one more win to clinch their spot.

Dawson will get a chance to do just that as they welcome the Alvin Yellowjackets on Friday October 25 to Pearland Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Zavala hit RB Jerimiah Treadaway on a 4-yard scoring strike with 9:31 left in the second period; Zavala tossed a 20-yard scoring pass to Corey Brown with 3:51 left in the second quarter; and Zavala closed out the first half with a 20-yard scoring pass to Chase Davis to make the score 28-7 as kicker Ayden Treadaway booted his fourth PAT.

Dawson would score five more times in the second half to build a 63-7 lead before Rayburn would finally score a touchdown and a two-point conversion to make the final score 63-15.

Zavala would throw three more touchdown passes to WR Rodney Bonham (20-yard TD), WR Kaden Dillard (11-yard TD), and Nate Guillo (12-yard TD).
