The Lady Patriots (7-2) built a 12-2 lead, but Friendswood sophomore post Ashlyn Mason scored two baskets and senior guard Kinsey Cole fired in a 3-point missile to cut the margin to 12-7 before Memorial went on a 5-0 run for a 17-7 lead with less than three minutes to go in the opening frame.

Memorial continued to stay ahead of Friendswood over the next eight minutes 12-7 for a 30-19 halftime lead.

While Friendswood continued to battle, the Lady 'Stangs could never make up any ground as Nicole Nash hit a 3-pointer for Friendswood to begin the second half to cut the margin to 30-22, but the Lady Pats went on an 8-1 run for a 38-23 lead.

The third quarter ended on 40-28 as Friendswood outscored Memorial 5-2 to close out the third.
