Friendswood drops to 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in league action.
Yarbrough gashed the Friendswood defense for 301 yards including touchdown runs of 59 and 53 yards to hand the 'Stangs their second straight league loss.
On the flip side, Friendswood struggled when they attempted to run the ball while also losing two second quarter fumbles to the Cougars.
"Right now, we are charged with finding a run game," said Friendswood head coach Jordan Johnson. "There's no way around it. Everybody knows it. There's no hiding. That's all we're lacking is a run game.
"When we can do that, great things will happen. We can throw the ball and get guys open."
Friendswood got on the scoreboard first when QB Mikey Butler hit Garrett Muecke wide open on a 41-yard scoring pass for an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Butler threw for 199 yards and one touchdown while Muecke caught five passes for 124 yards and a score.
After forcing Crosby to punt on their first possession, Friendswood suffered their first fumble on their next possession when Noah Abebe coughed up a short pass reception that was scooped up by Malik Windfont who turned it into a 24-yard score to tie the game 7-7.
Later in the first half, Butler was sacked for a huge loss and fumble the ball to the Cougars. He later threw an interception to shut down another drive.
The Cougars added a second quarter score to give them a 14-7 lead at intermission.
Crosby (2-3, 2-0) controlled the second half behind the running of Yarbrough who at 32 rushing attempts.
Yarbrough broke free in the third period on a 53-yard scoring run to make it 21-7 and on the first snap of the fourth quarter, the shifty back sprinted untouched on a 59-yard run to increase the lead to 28-7 in favor of the Cougars.
On the ensuing kickoff, Friendswood scored when Jackson Lee returned an 82-yard kickoff for a touchdown to make the score 28-14 which stood as the final score.
The schedule doesn't get any easier as the Mustangs will host the undefeated Angleton Wildcats (5-0, 2-0) at Henry Winston Stadium on Friday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. The Wildcats beat Pasadena last week 80-0.
"It's a matter now of cohesion and being on the same page," Johnson said. "The time is there. We're well into the season so we've had the time, and getting sharp is the next thing."
