Mustangs get past Crosby 48-36


FRIENDSWOOD — Friendswood improved to 3-2 in District 22-5A action with a big win over the Crosby Cougars.

Senior Renyck Robertson led the offensive attack with 11 points as the Mustangs won each quarter stay in the early playoff hunt.

The Mustangs led 20-17 at intermission after outscoring the Cougars 11-9 and 9-8 in the first two quarters.

The second half put separation between the two teams as Friendswood built a 34-21 lead with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter.

Robertson and Hudson Bockart both had strong offensive showings in leading the 'Stangs on an early 9-2 run to begin the second half for a 29-19 advantage. Friendswood took the third quarter 15-7 to enter the final frame 35-24.

The Mustangs continue to dominate the game on both ends of the court as Bockart, sophomore Cole Kelly and Ian Bivins led the offense down the stretch to the 48-36 league win.

Following Robertson's 11 points was Hamre with eight points while Gracen McGregor tossed in seven and Kelly and Bivins each had six points while Bockart added five.
