No. 1 state-ranked Friendswood diamondmen remain unbeaten at 20-0


FRIENDSWOOD — Friendswood remains No. 1 in the state with a perfect 20-0 mark after shutting out Baytown Lee 12-0 last week in a District 24-5A baseball game.

Jaxson Burch toed the rubber for Friendswood as he went three innings, allowing no runs, three walks on one hit and striking out four. Easton Tumis pitched three frames in relief with no hits, one strike out and two walks.

Devon Andrews launched a home run in the second inning.

Friendswood collected 16 hits as Andrews (3-for-4, 2 RBIs, 3 runs), Reed South (2-for-4, 2 RBIs, 2 runs), Isaiah Winkler (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), Landon Montemayor (2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 run), Izaac Pacheco (2-for3, 1 RBI), and Boots Landry (2-for-3, 2 runs) each racked up multiple hits for the Mustangs.

Friendswood didn't commit an error in the field.
