Manvel District 24-5A Track Champions


MANVEL — The Manvel goys and girls completed the sweep as each team won their side of the District 24-5A track championship. Manvel boys scored 139 points followed by Fort Bend Marshall (134), Richmond Foster (110), Shadow Creek (89), FB Hightower (70), Angleton (22), FB Willowridge (19), Rosenberg Terry (18), and Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated (17).

The Manvel girls scored 124 points followed by Fort Bend Hightower (123), Shadow Creek (118), FB Marshall (92), Richmond Foster (78), Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated (35), Angleton (32), Rosenberg Terry (3), and FB Willowridge (1).

Finishing in first place for the Manvel boys was:

Caleb Malbrough who won the triple jump (47-08); Julio Ramirez who won the 3200 meters (10:18.98);

Finishing in first place for the Manvel girls was:

Aryn Johnson who won the triple jump (36-04.50); Ja'Dasia Sims won the high jump (5-00);

Finishing in first place for the Shadow Creek boys was Curtis Miller who won the pole vault (13-00).

Ashton O'Conner won the 100 meters in 10.52.

Finishing in first place for Shadow Creek girls was:

Morgan Shelton who won the shot put with a heave of 34-07 and she won the discus with a throw of 116-05.

Tairah Johnson won the 100 meter hurdles in 14.33.

Victoria Wright won the 100 meters in 12.27.

Manvel and Shadow Creek had strong showings by other members of their track teams that should compete well at the 5A regional meet that will determine who goes to the 5A state track meet in Austin.
