Manvel, Shadow Creek compete at 7-on7 state tournament

The Manvel Mavericks and Shadow Creek Sharks qualified and participated at the 2025 state 7-on-7 tournament in College Station.

Both teams advanced to the championship bracket after pool play to compete for the 7-on-7 state championship.

Manvel went undefeated in their four-team pool play getting wins over Lovejoy (28-19), Dripping Springs (25-19), and Abilene (18-13).

The Mavericks faced Liberty Christian in the opening round of the championship bracket and fell 33-20. The loss ended the Mavericks tournament appearance.

Shadow Creek advanced to the championship bracket after finishing second in pool play.

The Sharks finished with a 2-1 mark in pool play with wins over Austin Anderson (21-20) and Laredo LBJ (27-21) while losing to South Oak Cliff (24-12).

Shadow Creek opened up the championship bracket against Lake Highlands and fell short 34-30 to be eliminated from the 7-on-7 state tournament.

South Oak Cliff lost to eventual state champion The Woodlands 27-7.

Manvel and Shadow Creek were the only teams in District 22-6A to advance to the 7-on-7 state tournament.
