MANVEL — A four-star prospect, Manvel WR Jalen Preston holds 22 total offers and committed to the Texas A&M Aggies over the remainder of a top six that also included Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU and Oregon.
Now the headliner of Kevin Sumlin's 2018 class, although Preston's commitment is certainly a welcomed one, it's far from a surprise. Texas A&M has been considered the frontrunner for Preston's services throughout the vast majority of his recruitment and the Aggies held all 12 of his Crystal Ball projections prior to his commitment.
A 6'2, 212-pound pass-catcher, Preston hauled in 33 receptions for 664 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior for Manvel as part of a roster that also features current Texas A&M commits in three-star outside linebacker Brian Johnson and three-star running back Deneric Prince. He's now commitment No. 15 for the Aggies and his pledge lifts Texas A&M's 2018 class to No. 10 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC.
Preston is ranked as the nation's No. 65 player, No. 11 wide receiver and the No. 6 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
