UH's D'Eriq King breaks Tim Tebow's TD streak record

MANVEL — Former Manvel All-State quarterback and now University of Houston signal-caller D’Eriq King set the FBS record for consecutive games with at least one passing and one rushing touchdown last week.

King had two touchdown passes during the first half against Tulane. He set the record on a 35-yard run with 13:16 left in the second quarter.

It marked the 15th consecutive game with at least one passing and one rushing touchdown, breaking a tie with Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow at Florida.

King was 16-of-33 for 229 yards and two touchdown and ran for 116 yards and another score in the 38-31 loss to the Green Wave. With the score tied 31-31, Tulane shocked the Cougars when they scored the winning touchdown in the final 15 seconds of the game on a trick play and a long pass.
