SANTA FE — The Manvel Mavericks continue to roll over their opponents this season and such was the case last Friday night when the Santa Fe Indians (2-5, 0-3) were thrashed 59-0 on their reservation. Manvel improves to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in District 24-4A. The only two teams still undefeated in league action is Manvel and Pearland Dawson and they are both ranked in the top 10 in the state among 4A schools.

Martinez hit eight extra points and a field goal in the scoring parade.
Not only was the Manvel offense dominating with 544 total yards, but the Manvel defenders limited the Indians to only 167 total yards including an anemic 33 yards passing.
Walker hit 8-of-12 passing for 176 yards and one touchdown. McCarley was 8-of-10 for 125 yards and three TDs.
McCarley was the leading rusher with 14 carries for 85 yards and a pair of scores. Green had five touches for 78 yards and a TD. Walker had four attempts for five yards and a score.
Melancon continues to be a danger receiving threat as he had three catches for 75 yards and one TD. Corey Seymour had four grabs for 72 yards and a score. Judkins had three catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Bennett had two catches for 38 yards and one TD.
The Mavs will host the Friendswood Mustangs on Thursday, October 13 at Alvin Memorial Stadium. Manvel has never beaten Friendswood, but this may be the year that the Mavs will get the win.
Friendswood (2-4, 1-2) has been hit hard by injuries this season and they will limp into the game heavily out maned. The Mustangs lost to La Marque 63-21 last week.
