Pearland diamondmen beat Alief Elsik 6-1


PEARLAND — Pearland righthander Colby Casey pitched four innings, allowed one earned run, struck out six and walked a pair in leading the Oilers to a district win over the Alief Elsik Rams.

The Oilers scored the first run in the bottom of the first frame on a RBI sacrifice fly by Mason Lytle.

A pair of doubles by Matt Adams and Parker DeLeon added two more runs in the second inning for a 3-1 advantage.

Pearland put the game away in the fourth with three more runs as Lytle and Carter Allen each had RBIs.

The Rams scored their only run in the top of the first as Casey shut them down for four innings. Clayton Broeder stepped in relief and pitched three innings, allowing no runs, no hits, six strikeouts, and two walks to secure the 6-1 win.

Cole Smajstrla, Adams, Sam Velasquez, Allen, Ryan Finke, Lytle, and DeLeon all had hits for the Pearland offensive attack.

Pearland will host Alief Hastings on Friday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m.
