PEARLAND — Pearland senior standout basketball player Jasmine Butler signed a letter-of-intent to continue her education and playing career for the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
Butler recently played in the Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game with some of the other top players in the Houston area.
The 6-foot forward was a three-time All-District performer and was a McDonald's All-American nominee. She was named as the District 22-6A Offensive Player of the Year and she scored over 1,000 career points at PHS.
“Jasmine has been a varsity member for four years and has developed into an outstanding basketball player and overall athlete," said Pearland head coach Donna Vacek. "Her awareness and presence on the court was a major contributing factor to the overall success at Pearland High School. Her work ethic and attitude are what make good athletes great athletes.
"We wish her all the best of luck and success in future years of basketball at the University of Tulsa. Congratulations Jasmine, you deserve the world!”
