Former Pearland softball players receive top honors at the collegiate level

Former All-State Pearland pitcher Alyssa Denham, who is now at University of Louisiana-Lafayette, was selected as Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and was also named as a first-team pitcher with a 15-2 pitching record.

She pitched 129.2 innings with a 2.27 ERA and 80 strikeouts.

Former Pearland All-Stater Lindsey Stewart was named to the C-USA first-team All-Conference and to the All-Freshman team as she hit .394 with 34 runs scored, 15 runs scored, three doubles, two triples, and 22 stolen bases.

Texas A&M junior standout Kristen Cuyos was named Southeastern All-Conference second-team at shortstop after she hit .277 with 28 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, and 42 RBIs.

Sophomore Sydney McKay of the University of Louisiana-Monroe was selected as a second-team pick on the All-Sun Belt squad after leading her team in hitting with a .382 batting average including seven doubles, one triple, one home run, 21 RBIs, and 34 runs scored.

Aileen Garcia is at University of Texas at Arlington and she was named to the Sun Belt All-Conference second-team after she appeared in 55 games, making 50 starts (primarily at first).

She was second on the team and 24th in the Sun Belt with a .316 batting average, 29 RBIs, four home runs, and eight doubles.

She had a team-high .447 slugging percentage

Former Pearland softball standout Haley Beam was named to the Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference team.

Beam is a repeat first team selection to the RRAC team and was chosen this year as a pitcher.

She led the league in ERA, is tied for third in wins and fifth in opponent batting average.
