Shadow Creek stays perfect on the season

PEARLAND — If anyone questions whether Shadow Creek is the real deal in their first varsity season, all someone has to do is ask 6A Alief Elsik

Shadow Creek spanked the Rams 60-0 and it could have been more.

The Sharks totally outplayed Elsik in every area and have sent a message to the rest of their district foes that they need to be well-prepared if they are going to challenge this young team.

Elsik certainly found this out as the Sharks jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and then added 20 more points in the second period for a 41-0 halftime lead.

Shadow Creek coasted in the second half outscoring the Rams 19-0 to post the lopsided 60-0 final score.

Scoring in the first half included a 16-yard touchdown run by Wesley Shippy for a 7-0 lead. QB Isaiah Harper threw three straight scoring passes to Kealon Jackson for a 38-yard touchdown; Greg Hancock for a 14 yard TD; and Carlton Guidry for a 40-yard scoring strike.

Courtney Brown scored on 5-yard blocked punt and Marquez Huland closed out the scoring in the first half with a 17-yard run.

The Sharks got scores in the second half from Ashton O'Connor on a 48-yard pass from Kyron Drones; a safety; a 24-yard field goal from Ian Hart; and a 6-yard fumble recovery return for a score by Damien Jackson.

Shadow Creek improves to 3-0 on the season and will have an open date on Friday, September 21. They will host Angleton for Homecoming on Friday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. at AISD Freedom Field in a district showdown.
