PEARLAND — The Pearland Lady Oilers volleyball program continues to see players honored for this past season.

Sophomore Brooke Botkin and senior Cassidy Nussman were recently named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State team.

This past season, Botkin, who was named District 22-6A MVP, registered 633 kills, 446 digs, 49 aces, and 45 blocks. She has verbally committed to the University of Southern California Lady Trojans.

Nussman was named as the District 22-6A "Offensive Player of the Year." She also was selected to the All-Academic All-District squad. The 6-4 Nussman had 406 kills and 95 blocks.

As a senior, Nussman has also recently collected additional honors including 2014 TGCA All-State Academic team.

"This is a testament of Cassidy's dedication on and off the court to keep her standards high as a student athlete by having a cumulative GPA of 95 or higher throughout her athletic career, Pearland head coach John Turner said.

Nussman was also named to the 2014 TGCA All-Star Blue Team for 5A/6A. There are only 12 senior players selected for each team state-wide to play in this prestigious event in Austin this summer.  Nussman will be joined by other top Division I recruits selected to the team. She has signed a national letter-of-intent with Northwestern University.
