Buck, Chavarria named to All-Greater Houston pre-season team

PEARLAND — The softball season is just around the corner and two Pearland players have been selected to the All-Greater Houston pre-season softball first-team.

Shortstop Kaylee Buck was named as a first-team shortstop. The first-team All-District 23-6A pick last year hit .441 with 21 run scored, eight RBIs, five doubles, and two triples.

Joining her on the first-team is pitcher Adrianna Chavarria who was the top pitcher for the Lady Oilers last season. The first-team All-District selection had an 18-7 mark with a 1.42 ERA.

Pearland head coach Laneigh Clark will be looking to these two players to lead the Lady Oilers to defend their District 23-6A title. Clark begins this year with a 637-405-5 career mark and her record at Pearland HS is 530-169. Pearland finished 22-12 in 2017. Clark is the winningest 6A coach in Texas high school softball history.
