Lady Oilers rout Alief Elsik 16-0

PEARLAND — Pearland has faced the Alief schools four times this season in softball and have won all four games with two wins against Elsik (32-0) and one game each against Taylor (15-0) and Hastings (15-0).

The Lady Oilers have won by a combined score of 62-0 with two more games left on the district schedule while not allowing a run from any of the three schools.

It was more of the same last week as Pearland blanked Elsik 16-0 in a game that was stopped after only three innings.

Natalie Trajillo got the win after pitching two innings, allowing one hit, while striking out one and walking one. Natalie Myers pitched the third inning allowing no run, no hits, and striking out two.

Meanwhile, the Lady Oilers teed off on Dee Johnston who allowed 16 runs, 14 hits, and five walks including a pair of home runs by Ashlyn Walls and Lauren Ochoa.

Pearland scored at will as they scored four runs in the first, six in the second, and six in the third before the mercy rule was enforced ending the game.

Top hitters for the Lady O's included Walls (1-for-1, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Ochoa (2-for-2, 1 run, 4 RBIs), Natalie Myers (2-for-3, 2 RBIs).

Hailey Rocha, Kaylee Hoppens, Lauren Shepherd, Ochoa, and Rylie Love (2) all had doubles.
