Pearland finishes second at District 23-6A golf tournament

PEARLAND — When playing golf, a single stroke over a two-day tournament can mean the difference between first or second place. Such was the case as Pearland shot a two-day team total 636 (316-320) while Strake Jesuit shot a two-day team total 635 (314-321) which gave the Crusaders the 23-6A crown. Brazoswood was a close third with a 641 stroke total.

Despite Brazoswood finishing third, their two top golfers captured first and second medalist honors as Luke Whitehead shot 71-79=150 and Jacob Burow shot an 83-69=152. Pearland's Blayne Wiener (80-74) finished in a tie for third with Strake Jesuit's Ryan Disch (78-76) as both golfers shot a 154.

Pearland's other team members included Presley Smith (79-81=160), Chris Gitau (76-84=160), Tommy LeClere (83-81=164), and Bryce Laird (81-90=171).

Pearland "Team 2" finished fourth after they shot 340-335=675 and Dawson finished fifth with a team total 338-340=678. George Ranch finished last with 344-344=688.
