PEARLAND — Pearland High School’s Cassidy Nussman has been chosen as an honorable mention selection on the American Volleyball Coaches Association Under Armour Girls High School All-America Team.
Nussman, a 6-4 senior, has signed a national letter of intent with Northwestern University.
Nussman was recently named District 22-6A Offensive Player of the Year and she is also on the All-Academic All-District team.
The 6'4" Nussman had 406 kills and 95 blocks this season for the Lady Oilers.
She was also named to the 2014 Adidas Texas Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament Team and named to the honorable mention All-Texans Team.
The 150 players including the All-America Honorable Mentions is a record number for the program. Many have already committed to play collegiate volleyball at some of the top schools in the country.
Each of the players on the first team will be invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match & Skills Competition.
The event will be held at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 19th in conjunction with the 2014 AVCA Annual Convention.
