Friendswood 3 - Santa Fe 2

In what will likely be their last major hurdle in the way of an undefeated district championship, the Friendswood Mustangs survived a five-set thriller on the road Friday against the Santa Fe Lady Indians, winning the match by the scores of 23-25, 25-10, 13-25, 25-18 and 15-12.

Friendswood got strong showings from Tori Weatherley (61 assists and 10 digs), Alessandra Meoni (19 kills), Ashlyn Svoboda (18 kills and 19 digs), Makensy Manbeck (14 kills), Gillian Smith (24 digs) and Cierra Pesak (19 digs).

Turning in top showings for Santa Fe were Kassidy Taves (17 kills, 23 assists and eight digs), Rylie Peters (12 kills), Kenzie Smith (10 kills and three blocks), Elena Dondonay (33 assists, 17 digs and two aces), Freedom Stephenson (22 digs) and Rachael Douglas (six blocks).

Pearland 3 - Alief Taylor 0

The Pearland Lady Oilers continued their strong showing in district by sweeping Alief Taylor 25-4, 25-7, 25-8.

Jackie Arrington led the offensive attack with 16 kills and 10 digs. Reese Cummings had eight kills. Kaylie Kovach and April Conant each had seven kills. Jenna Gray had 28 assists, four aces, and seven digs. Reagan DeBorde had 17 assists. Chloe Jordan had 20 digs. Emily Smajstrla had 13 digs.

Dawson 3 - Pearland 0

For the second time this season, the Dawson Lady Eagles swept their cross-town cousin Pearland Lady Oilers in their district showdown. The win gives Dawson control of their destiny to claim the 23-6A title.

Dawson took out Pearland 25-20, 25-22, 25-16 in a tough three-game set to remain undefeated in league competition. Both teams will certainly advance to the post-season.

For Pearland, they were led by Reese Cummings who had eight kills while Kaylie Kovach added five kills and April Conant added four kills. Chloe Jordan had 20 digs, Jenna Gray had 18 assists and 13 digs while Shelby Love had 11 digs.
