Shadow Creek thumps Alief Hastings 84-37

SHADOW CREEK — The Shadow Creek Sharks improved 15-7 overall and 3-0 in District 23-6A with a convincing win over the Alief Hastings Bears 84-37.
The outcome of the game was never in doubt as the closest the game was when the two teams were 0-0 at tipoff to start the district contest.
The Sharks warmed up in the opening quarter with a 10-4 lead.
Shadow Creek exploded for 18 points in the second quarter while Hastings could manage only seven points with a pair of baskets and three free throws while the Sharks hit six baskets, one trey, and 7-of-10 at the charity stripe for a 28-11 halftime lead.
The Sharks lit up the scoreboard with 34 points in the third period while holding Hastings to 11 points.
Kaden Tate led the Sharks in the third with 10 points while Jalen Singleton tossed in eight points.
It was more of the same in the final eight minutes as the Sharks outscored the Bears 22-15 down the stretch to complete the 84-37 thrashing.
B.J. Gill led the Sharks on offense with 13 points while Singleton had 12 and Tate finished with 10.
The Sharks hit 20-of-29 free throws and four 3-pointers.
