Shadow Creek left no doubt as to who is the top team among the Alvin ISD 6A schools as the Sharks were never really threatened in the 43-20 win over district rival Manvel who moved up to Class 6A after the realignment by the UIL.

The Sharks controlled the first three quarters to build a 43-6 lead over the Mavericks.

Manvel managed to score a couple of times in the final period to make the game much closer than it actually was with the final score 43-20.

Shadow Creek opened up the scoring in the first quarter when sophomore running back Triston Willis scored on a 9-yard run. Aiden Bui tacked on the PAT for a 7-0 lead with 4:06 left in the first period.

The Sharks would score again a few minutes later when senior running back Alex Kirkland would cross the pay station on a 9-yard run. The PAT hit the mark for a 14-0 lead with 1:21 remaining in the opening quarter.

Shadow Creek would add two more scores in the second period when WR Jacorey Watson caught a 11-yard touchdown pass from QB Joseph Stewart to bump the score to 21-0 with 10:09 left in the quarter.

The Sharks would increase the lead to 28-0 at intermission when QB Joseph Stewart hit WR Chris Stewart on a 38-yard scoring strike with 4:49 left before halftime.

It would be more of the same in the second half as QB Joseph Stewart once again hit WR Chris Stewart on a 38-yard scoring pass to make the score 34-0 with 9:12 left in the third period. The PAT was no good.

With 5:27 remaining in the third, Joseph Stewart hooked up with Watson on a 13-yard touchdown pass to make the score 40-0 after the PAT missed the mark.

Manvel finally got on the scoreboard with 2:27 remaining in the third quarter on a 9-yard scoring run. The PAT was no good and the Sharks led 40-6.

With 1:10 left in the third, Shadow Creek would score on last time as Bui hit a 35-yard field goal to make the score 43-6.

The Mavs scored twice in the final quarter on 8-yard and 10-yard scoring passes to post the 43-20 final score.

Joseph Stewart was 12-for-17 passing for 296 yards and four TD passes.

Chris Stewart caught five passes for 132 yards and three TDs while Jacorey Watson snagged three passes for 60 yards and two scores.
