Shadow Creek cruises past Dawson 42-21

Shadow Creek entered this season as the team to beat for the District 22-6A title as they are now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the league standings while tied with Pearland with the same identical record.
It didn't take long for the Sharks to set the pace of this game as they scored on their first possession of the game when QB Joseph Stewart hit WR Ashton Jones on an 8-yard scoring toss to give the Sharks a 7-0 lead.
The Eagles were held to three plays and a punt giving the ball back to Shadow Creek at their 43.
On second-and-10, RB Triston Willis takes the ball and finds an opening that he turned into a 57-yard scoring jaunt with 3:24 left in the opening quarter. The PAT was good and the Sharks had an early 14-0 advantage.
Shadow Creek would add a third score, this time on a 1-yard plunge by Willis to bump the score to 21-0 after the PAT by Aiden Bui with 2:03 remaining in the first half.
Dawson finally scored close to the end on the first half when QB Max Zavala hit RB Corey Brown on a 20-yard pass for the touchdown. Ayden Treadaway booted the PAT to close the gap to 21-7/
However, the Sharks were finished as they added one more score before intermission when Jones snagged another scoring pass from Stewart making the score 28-7 at halftime.
Shadow Creek added two more scores in the third period when Stewart hit Jones on an 18-yard scring strike and Willis scored on a 5-yard run.
The Eagles scored once in the third period when RB Rodney Bonham scored on a 1-yard run and once in the fourth quarter when RB Jerimiah Treadaway scored on a 2-yard run. Ayden Treadaway added both extra points to post the 42-21 final score.
Shadow Creek had 223 rushing yards and 263 passing yards for a total of 468 yards.
Dawson had 146 yards rushing and 162 yards passing for a total of 308 yards.
Zavala was 13-of-25 passing for 149 yards and 1 TD.
Jerimiah Treadaway had nine carries for 97 yards and one score while Brown had seven totes for 50 yards and six catches for 88 yards and one TD. Bonham had five grabs for 50 yards.
The annual PearBowl will be Friday, October 4 with Dawson facing Pearland at 7:00 p.m. at Pearland ISD Stadium.
