SHADOW CREEK — It was Homecoming for the Shadow Creek Sharks and they gave the home crowd something to celebrate with a 62-7 thrashing of the Alief Elsik Rams to remain undefeated for the 2022 football season at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in district.

The game was never in question as the Sharks opened up the first quarter with a pair of touchdowns for a 14-0 lead.

The Sharks doubled the first quarter output with 28 points for a 42-0 lead at intermission.

Shadow Creek scored two more times in the third period for a 56-0 advantage going into the final quarter where they added six more points while Elsik did score one time to make the final score 62-7.

Because of the lopsided score - the two teams played with a running clock in the second half to make the game end faster.

Shadow Creek ran a total of 47 plays against Elsik for 17 first downs while the Rams ran 42 plays for only three first downs.

Sophomore quarterback Jacorey Watson was 10-of-13 passing for 85 yards and one TD while picking up 22 yards on five carries and two TDs.

Tylik Burton led the Sharks rushing with 97 yards on seven totes and one score. Justin Qualls had nine carries for 57 yards and two TDs, Josh Davis had eight carries for 44 yards and a score, and Christian Seriale had four carries for 22 yards and to touchdowns.

Joshua Best had two catches for 30 yards, Dane Jones had three grabs for 26 yards, and Ashton Jones had two catches for nine yards and a score.

Shadow Creek will travel to Alvin to face the Yellowjackets on Friday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Alvin Memorial Stadium in a District 23-6A contest.
