Shadow Creek pounds Alvin 52-0

SHADOW CREEK — Shadow Creek faced the Alvin Yellowjackets and came away with an easy 52-0 shutout to improve to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in district.
The Sharks are tied with Dawson atop the league standings and the two teams will face off on Friday, October 21 at Freedom Field at 7:00 p.m. The winner will more than likely win the District 23-6A crown.
There wasn't any question regarding the outcome of the game between the Sharks and Jackets as the game was well in hand as Shadow Creek scored seven points in the first quarter and then added 28 unanswered points in the second period for a commanding 35-0 lead at intermission.
The Sharks scored the first touchdown late in the opening frame when sophomore QB Jacorey Watson tossed a one-yard scoring pass to Garrison Burns for the score. Aiden Bui tacked on the PAT to make the score 7-0.
Shadow Creek blew the game open in the second period as they score four touchdowns.
Watson got loose on a 30-yard scoring run with 11:23 left in the second quarter with Bui adding the PAT for a 14-0 score.
After Alvin was forced to punt, the Sharks quickly scored again on an 18-yard scamper by Tylik Burton. The PAT was good by Bui and the score was 21-0.
The Jackets were forced to punt again, but this time, the Sharks scored on a sensational 60-yard punt return by Brian Nelson II. Bui added his fourth PAT for a 28-0 advantage.
With less than two minutes before halftime, the Sharks would find the pay station one more time as Watson hit Dane Jones for a 15-yard scoring strike. Bui was perfect with the PAT and the Sharks went into the dressing room with a 35-0 lead.
Shadow Creek added two more scores in the third quarter when Christian Seriale returned the second half kickoff 80-yards for a touchdown and later when they would add a 3-yard scoring plunge. Bui was perfect on the two PATs for a 49-0 lead.
The final score came in the fourth quarter when Bui hit a 41-yard field goal to post the 52-0 final score.
Watson was 11-of-15 passing for 111 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 26 yards on two carries and one TD.
Jacob Washington had seven carries for 50 yards, Burton had six totes for 48 yards and two scores, Justin Qualls had six carries for 40 yards and Josh Davis had three carries for 24 yards.
Burns was the leading receiver with two grabs for 45 yards and one TD.
