Shadow Creek blitzes Alief Elsik 49-0


SHADOW CREEK — Shadow Creek won their fifth straight game of the 2021 season as they shutout a hapless Alief Elsik team 49-0.

The Sharks outscored the Rams with 28 points in the first half while the defense shutout the Rams.

The first score came on a pass play from QB Duke Butler to Lawrence Armstrong for a 12-yard touchdown to make the score 7-0 in the opening period.

Butler found Armstrong open on another scoring pass covering 31-yards to make the score 14-0.

The Sharks closed out the opening quarter with another score when Felix Buchanan found the paystation on a 3-yard run and a 21-0 advantage.

Shadow Creek added one more score in the second quarter when Butler threw his third touchdown pass to WR Joshua Best for 5-yards to make the score at halftime 28-0.

The Sharks scored in the third quarter when Butler hit Best for his fourth TD pass covering 17 yards to increase the lead to 35-0.

The score increased to 42-0 in the third when Justin Qualls scored on a 1-yard plunge.

The final touchdown for the Sharks came on a 4-yard scamper by Qualls in the final period for a 49-0 lead which stood as the final score.

Butler was 9-of-14 passing for 140 yards and four TD passes.

Qualls had 14 carries for 71 yards and a pair to scores.

Joquan West had two catches for 45 yards, Best had four catches for 40 yards and two TDs, Armstrong had two grabs for 43 yards and two scores, and I'Mauree Davis had two catches for 40 yards.

Shadow Creek will travel to Pearland to face the Oilers at The Rig on Friday, October 29 in a game for the district title. Both teams enter the league showdown at 5-0 in district.
