In their opening game after reaching the state championship game last season, Summer Creek dominated Shadow Creek with a decisive 42-0 victory in their non-district matchup at Bulldog Stadium.

Summer Creek’s offense and defense were in top form, scoring on seven of their eight offensive possessions without punting once. The Bulldogs set the tone early, opening with a five-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a touchdown.

Brandon Jones contributed to the defensive prowess with a critical pick-six in the first quarter.

QB Blake Thomas threw two touchdown passes, and running back Benny Easter Jr. led the rushing attack, adding further points.

Shadow Creek struggled offensively, failing to score as Summer Creek’s defense consistently stymied their attempts.

Shadow Creek QB Joseph Stewart was 10-for-21 passing for 76 yards while RB Triston Willis had 45 yards rushing. WR Chris Stewart caught four passes for 28 yards.

The Sharks were held to 149 total yards of offense.

With this win, Summer Creek starts its season 1-0 and will next face Lamar. Shadow Creek, now 0-1, will host Clear Creek, looking to rebound from this heavy defeat.
