Dawson blanks Pasadena Memorial 55-0 in district contest

The Eagle offense went 63-yards in 7-plays capped off by a 4-yard scoring pass from QB Luke Brown to WR Corey Brown to make the score 7-0 following the PAT by Noah Abela with 9:03 left in the first quarter.
Memorial looked like they were going to answer with a score of their own as they drove from their own 23 to the Dawson 20, but the Mavs fubled which was recovered by Dawson's Justin Welch at the Eagle 30.
Dawson scored 10 plays later to complete a 70-yard drive as Brown scored his second touchdown on a 2-yard run to make the score 14-0 with 2:29 left in the first frame.
After a three and out, the Eagles started their next drive at their own 36 and had to settle for a 29-yard Abela field goal with 10:29 left in the second quarter for a 17-0 lead.
Abela added a 28-yard field goal with 6:29 left before halftime for 20-0 lead.
Dawson was finished scoring on offense as QB Zion Anderson fired a 43-yard scoring strike to Josiah McFarland and followed that with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Brown after the defense intercepted a Memorial pass to make the score 34-0.
The Eagles added one more score before intermission when Luke Brown hit Anthony Fournet on a 3-yard scoring toss for a 41-0 halftime advantage.
Dawson scored twice in the third quarter to post the 55-0 final score.
Nathanael Talom excited the crowd with an interception he returned 89-yards for a score and Max Morales put an exclamation point on the game with a 1-yard scoring plunge.
QB Luke Brown was 10-of-15 passing for 147 yards and three TDs while QB Zion Anderson was 7-of-9 passing for 113 yards and one score.
RB Greg Earl led the ground attack with six carries for 66 yards while Luke Brown had four totes for 27 yards. Eduardo Reyes had one carry for 39 yards.
McFarland had four catches for 69 yards and one TD while Calvin Wesley had five grabs for 52 yards. Corey Brown had four catches for 43 yards and two scores. Jaden Williams had two catches for 40 yards and DeLucia had two grabs for 31 yards.
Dawson will travel to Freedom Field on Friday, September 26 to face the Shadow Creek Sharks at 7:00 p.m. in a crucial District 22-6A showdown between two teams with 2-0 marks.
