Hoopfest Invitational Tournament winners

Dawson Lady roundballers were invited to the inaugural Hoopfest Invitational Tournament featuring some of the top teams in the state and the Lady Eagles made a bold statement by going undefeated to capture the tournament top trophy.

New Dawson girls head coach Gary Douglas, who replaced Sharee Griffin, said, "This victory is more than just a trophy, it's a statement. Our girls showed grit, teamwork, and relentless energy proving they belong among the best in Texas."

Dawson, who is currently ranked No. 1 by the TCBA and No. 2 by the TGCA, is currently 6-0 after getting wins over state-ranked No. 9 Duncanville (64-47), No. 7 Cy-Springs (64-39), No. 4 North Crowley (58-53), and private school No. 2 Houston Christian (85-65) to win the tournament.

While the basketball season is just beginning, Douglas is proud of the progress the Lady Eagles are making as a team.
