GHAGBA names Dawson as the 6A Team of the Month

The Dawson Lady Eagles have jumped out to a 13-2 record this season and were recently named as the Greater Houston Girls Basketball Coaches Association 6A "Team of the Month."

Presently, the Lady Eagles are ranked No. 13 in the state, and they are the defending District 22-6A champions.

Dawson fell to the Summer Creek Lady Bulldogs 58-42 last season in the Class 6A Region III-Div I finals.

The Lady Eagles closed out the 2024-2025 season with a 34-5 record while advancing to the region finals for the first time in school history. This was also the first time Dawson had ever won an outright district championship.

The District 22-6A schedule has just begun and Dawson is presently in fourth place at 1-1 while Shadow Creek (3-0) and Manvel (3-0) currently share first place and Pearland (2-0) sits in third place. But the season is very young.

Shadow Creek (12-1) is ranked No. 7 and Manvel (16-2) is ranked No. 16 in the state.
