Lady Oilers clinch District 22-6A title and playoff spot

Pearland is now 15-0 in league action while closing out the season at home against South Houston on Thursday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m.
The Ladies Oilers have won 15 games by more than five runs this season while winning their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-6. This was their 13th straight win.
Pearland jumped on the Sharks in the opening frame by scoring eight runs, but Shadow Creek responded with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to close the gap to 8-3. However, that would be the last time the Lady Sharks would score.
The Lady O's scored two runs in the second, three runs in the third, and one run in the fifth for the 14-3 win.
Getting the win in the pitching circle for Pearland was junior Madelyn Guzman who went five frames, gave up three runs on three hits while striking out three and walking one.
Leading hitter for the Lady Oilers were Kailey Monsef (2-for-3, 2 runs), Kaylee Schweitzer (1-for-3, 1 run), Payton Powell (3-for-4, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Layla Bennett (2-for-3, 3 runs, 2 RBIs, 1 3B), Laila Nobles (1 run, 3 RBIs), Anison Lopez (1-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI), Elaina Njus (1-for-3, 1 run, 2 RBIs), and Sydney Mann (2-for-3, 1 run, 1 RBI).
