Pearland's Stewart named to Houston TD Club pre-season team

Like father like son. That can be said about Jarrad Stewart and son Jayden Stewart who was recently honored as a pre-season member of the Greater Houston defensive unit presented by the Touchdown Club of Houston.

Flashback to 2008 when dad, Jarrad, was honored by the Touchdown Club of Houston after he was named Defensive Player of the Year his senior year at Pearland.

Pearland finished 12-1 in 2008 and lost to Fort Bend Hightower in the Class 5A state quarterfinals 38-21.

The Oilers would certainly welcome that kind of season again in 2025.

Young Stewart is one of the top defensive players in the state and he has committed to continue his education and playing career at the next level for the University of Illinois.

Last season, Stewart had 65 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks while being named first-team All-District.
