Lady Oilers crush Lady Yellowjackets 64-18

The Pearland girls basketball team improved to 13-4 overall and 3-0 in district after trouncing the Alvin Lady Yellowjackets 64-18.

Sr Tycee Thibeaux and Soph Anita Nwosu took command of the offense as they scored 18 and 17 points respectively. They were joined by the rest of the team as each player got in the scoring column.

Pearland opened the first quarter on fire offensively outscoring Alvin 26-5.

It got worse for the Lady Jackets in the second quarter as the Lady O's defense really kicked in allowing a single basket while the offense poured in 18 more points giving Pearland a commanding 44-7 lead at intermission.

Pearland head coach Jere' Adams emptied her bench as every girl put their name in the scoring column.

The Lady Oilers took the third quarter 14-8 and closed the books on the district game 6-3 in the final frame for the 64-18 league win.

Pearland will face Dawson at Dawson High School on Friday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m.
