Friendswood will compete in a tough new district this season and a tough non-district schedule should prepare them when they face their district opponents.

Dawson set for non-district foes  

Dawson and Pearland both have new head coaches and they also have new non-district teams they will face following the realignment by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).

Manvel to be challenged by non-district foes  

With a much weaker district after the University Interscholastic League (UIL) realignment, the Mavs, under the guidance new head coach Kevin Hall, will look to their non-district schedule to provide them with some early competition to get them ready for league action.

The Texas Sports Writers Association released their annual All-State selections and three area players were honored.

Friendswood set to compete in new district  

Friendswood will now be in District 10-5A Division I with Alvin Shadow Creek, Angleton, Fort Bend Hightower, Galveston Ball, Richmond Foster, Rosenberg Terry, and Texas City.

Manvel picked to win District 11-5A Div. II  

Most would agree that the Mavs won't really be tested until it is time to enter the post-season especially after their heart-breaking loss for the 5A Division I state title last year.
