PEARLAND — Dawson's Eric Wells was named the 4A and under football "Coach of the Year at a banquet hosted by the Texans last Thursday night.
Klein Collins football coach Drew Svoboda was named the Texans' 5A "Coach of the Year." Both coaches received a $1,000 grant in their names to their football programs.
Klein Collins finished the regular season 10-0 and finished 12-1 after losing to Tyler John Tyler in the 5A Region II semifinals.
Dawson went to the Region III 4A state semifinals this year in just its second season of varsity play to finish 12-3.
Both coaches were awarded the Texans' "Coach of the Week" honor during the regular season and received $500 to go toward their programs with those awards.
The Texans have given the award annually since the 2002 season.
