Roudbari, Spano compete at state swim meet

AUSTIN — Manvel had two swimmers who qualified for the Class 4A state swim meet that was held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swim Center on the University of Texas campus on February 18-19.

Rebecca Roudbari won a gold medal in the 100-yard backstroke at the regional swim meet to qualify for the 4A state swim meet.

Geoffrey Spano won a gold medal in the 500-yard freestyle at regionals to also qualify at state.

This places the two swimmers among the top 16 swimmers in the state.

Roudbari placed 14th at state with a time of 1:01.38.

Spano placed 11th at the state meet with a time of 4:47.59.
