PEARLAND — Pearland's Gabrielle Davilla was 2-for-4 at the plate including a pair of doubles while scoring a run and driving in another, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Oilers fell to Episcopal 5-4 just before the Easter celebration.
Episcopal got on the scoreboard first with a run in the opening inning, but Pearland answered in the bottom of the second to knot up the score 1-1.
The Lady Saints scored three more runs off Pearland starter Natalie Trujillo in the third for a 4-1 lead. With two outs, Adrianna Chavarria took over and pitched 2.2 innings allowing a run in the fourth giving Episcopal a 5-1 advantage.
Pearland attempted a comeback scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut the margin to 5-4, but the Lady O's couldn't muster any more offense to come up short in the non-district loss.
Trujillo took the loss giving up four runs on five hits, one error, five strikeouts, and one walk. Chavarria allowed one hit for one run with four strikeouts and one walk. Alyssa Fort closed the final 1.2 innings allowing one hit, no hits, one strikeout, and one walk.
