Dawson blanks La Marque
The Dawson Lady Eagles improved their District 24-4A record to 4-3 with a 25-10, 25-7, 25-16 win against La Marque on Friday.
Camryn Kzamierski led the Lady Eagles with 10 kills and Katie Haynie had 17 assists. Overall, the Lady Eagles are 18-16 and 4-3 in league play.
“We’re ready for the second round of district,” Pearland Dawson coach Lori McLaughlin said. “We’re really going to have to step it up and try and compete at the level we need to.”
The Lady Cougars fell to 1-6 in district and 3-15 overall
Dawson beats Brazosport
Dawson beat Brazosport 25-20, 17-25, 29-27, 25-20 to improve their season record to 17-16 and 3-3 in district action.
Camryn Kazmierski led the Lady Eagles with seven kills.
Friendswood remains atop district leaderboard
Friendswood easily swept Manvel 25-9, 25-17, 25-14 Jasmine Casey had a season-high 18 kills and added 13 digs to lead the Lady Mustangs over the Lady Mavericks.
Jill Bergeson also had 13 digs and Siobhan O’Neill dished out 31 assists to go along with three aces to lead Friendswood (29-5, 6-0 24-4A).
Friendswood 3 - Angleton 0
Annie Mitchem (12) and Jasmine Casey (11) combined for 23 kills to lead the Lady Mustangs to a sweep over Angleton, 25-9, 25-14, 25-13.
Casey added six digs, while Siobhan O’Neill dished out 24 assists. Sarrah Wolley got four blocks for Friendswood (30-5, 7-0 24-4A).
Pearland splits league games
The Pearland Lady Oilers lost a hard-fought battle with Deer Park 13-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 10-15 in five games.
Malorie Pardo led the Lady O's with 20 kills. The loss drops Pearland to 5-1 in league play while Deer Park is 6-2 in district.
Pearland beats Dobie 3-0
Malorie Pardo pounded out 19 kills to lead the Lady Oilers to a 25-17, 25-16, 25-14 sweep over the Dobie Lady Longhorns. The win leaves Pearland tied for first place with Dobie as both teams have a 6-1 district mark. Deer Park is third at 6-2 while La Porte (4-3) and Pasadena Memorial (4-3) are tied for fourth place.
