PEARLAND — One is a senior and the other is a freshman at McNeese State University. Both made the President's honor roll this past semester with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Former Lady Oilers' Lindsey and Lauren Langner are now on the same roster for the same team again. The elder Langner has already made an incredible impact for the Lady Cowboys over the past three years -- the youngest Langner will begin to make her niche this season. Both left their mark on the Pearland softball program in a very positive way.
Lindsey has started every game (171) for McNeese since arriving as a freshman three years ago. Last season, she had 54 hits, scored 31 runs, seven doubles, 19 RBI’s...second on the team with 26 walks...fourth on the team with a .287 batting average...1.000 fielding percent...earned ESPN/CoSida District VI All-Academic...and was named to the All-SLC (third team).
Lauren, who was a two-time All-State second-baseman for the Lady Oilers, will begin to make her mark at McNeese this season as a pure freshman after helping Pearland win three straight Class 5A Region III titles and one state championship (2010) while appearing in the 5A state softball tournament for the past three seasons.
Congratulations to Lindsey and Lauren for your academic achievements too! We wish you much success at McNeese State this coming softball season.
