Friendswood rolls past Porter 42-14  

Friendswood finds itself right in the thick of post-season contention. The Mustangs face an advantageous schedule in its final two contests against the bottom two schools in the league.

Shadow Creek slides past Pearland 41-28  

The game between Pearland and Shadow Creek was for the District 22-6A title while both teams, win or lose, had already punched their ticket to the post-season. Both teams entered the contest undefeated in league play.

Pearland clobbers Pasadena Memorial 52-3  

The Oilers kept their district record perfect with a dominating 52-3 win over the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks to keep them winless in league action at 0-5. Pearland will travel to Freedom Field in Manvel to face the Shadow Creek Sharks on Friday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. for the district championship.

Dawson races past Sam Rayburn 63-15  

The Eagles finished with 23 first downs, 102 yards rushing, and 358 yards passing for a total of 480 yards. Rayburn had eight first downs, 133 yards rushing, and two yards passing for a total of 135 yards.

Friendswood knocks out Pasadena 68-0  

The Mustangs must win their final four games of the regular season to have an outside chance of extending their season in the post-season. They need to carry the momentum into Friday's game at home against Porter (3-4, 2-2) on October 25 at 7:00 p.m.

The Eagles controlled both sides of the ball as they had 256 yards on the ground and 191 yards through the airways for a total of 447 total yards. South Houston managed only 186 yards of total offense (162 rushing, 24 passing).

Oilers come up short 4-1 against Tomball in state final  Photos Included

After winning a state title in 1980, Pearland has come up empty in its next six trips. This was the Oilers’ fourth trip since 2009. Despite the loss, much credit has to go to coach Rogers and his coaching staff for the great season once again. The players gave it their best and once again finished as one of the top two Class 6A teams in the state.

Selected as an All-State standout in high school, Pearland Softball's new head coach Michele Hyden moved on to play at the collegiate level for Centenary College as a four-year letter winner in both volleyball and softball. She was named as the 1994 NCAA Woman of the Year in Louisiana in softball.

The Texans will next travel to face the AFC North Division champion and overall playoff first-seed Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round on Saturday January 20th at 3:30pm. The Ravens defeated the Texans in week one 25-9 in the first regular season game for Houston quarterback CJ Stroud and new head coach DeMeco Ryans, who will no doubt be looking to improve on that early season performance
